Hamsadhwani R Ramachandran Award of Excellence was presented to SNEHA, an organisation founded 33 years back committed for preventing Suicide through Counselling. The Award was presented by Shri N Ravi, Chairman, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Chennai Kendra and Publisher, The Hindu Group to Dr. Lakshmi Vijayakumar, Founder of SNEHA. SNEHA has connected with over 400,000 distressed people, young and old, and saved their lives.

Hamsadhwani R.Ramachandran Award of Excellence was awarded to “The Banyan”, an organisation founded in 1993 for providing a variety of holistic mental health solutions that address multifaceted components of distress for persons with high support needs. The award was handed over by Former Director General Police, Dr. K. Radhakrishnan,IPS, to Dr. K.V. Kishore Kumar, Director, The Banyan in the presence of Sangita Kalanidhi Umayalapuram Sivaraman and Chitra Visweswaran

Hamsadhwani R.Ramachandran Award of Excellence was awarded to “Kalakshetra”, an organisation founded in 1936 by the vibrant visionary Rukmini Devi Arundale with the vision “of imparting to the young the true spirit of Art, devoid of vulgarity and commercialism.” The award was handed over, in the presence of Shri R. Natraj, Mylapore MLA, by Shri Nalli Kuppuswami Chettiar to the present Chairman, Mr, Gopalaswami (an IAS officer and former Chief Election Commissioner) and Pakkala Ramdas, Principal Kalakshetra Dance College

Ramachandran Award of Excellence was presented to Sri Ramakrishna Math, Chennai for its unparalleled and excellent work done in line with its motto ‘Atmano mokshartham jagad hitaya cha’, ( For one’s own salvation, and for the welfare of the world.), to alleviate human suffering by spreading education, rendering medical service, extending help to villagers through rural development centres, and to work for the all-round welfare of humanity, especially for the uplift of the poor and the downtrodden. The Award was given by Shri K. Vaidyanathan, Editor of Dinamani and received by Swami Lakshmidharananda on behalf of Sri Ramakrishna Math, Chennai

Hamsadhwani R Ramachandran Award of Excellence was presented to SRUTI (India’s premier magazine for Performing Arts) and received by by its celebrated Editor – in – Chief, Shri V. Ramnarayan . The award was presented by Shri N. Vittal, Former Central Vigilance Commissioner in the presence of Shri Mohan Parasaran, Former Solicitor General of India.
